Here's the scoop...
River Valley Counselling was born out of friendship.
Over ten years ago, we met while working as social workers at the hospital. What started out as friendly colleagues quickly became a deeper connection and a lifelong friendship. Since then, we've walked alongside one another through marriage, having children, completing our master's degrees, and navigating the many seasons of life. Through all of it, one thing has remained clear to us: meaningful connection changes everything.
That belief is the foundation of our practice.
Our Philosophy
We practice value-based care because we truly believe values are a compass. When life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or painful, your values help guide the way forward. Our role isn't to fix you - it's to help you reconnect with what matters most and support you in building a life that reflects it. We also approach therapy relationally. We care deeply about creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood. Growth happens in connection, and we don't take that responsibility lightly.
What You Can Expect From Us
A genuine, human relationship.
A space where you don't have to pretend.
Support in clarifying your values and living in alignment with them.
Evidence based practices that promote change.
Two therapists who believe in growth, reflection, and doing our own work too.
River Valley Counselling is an extension of our friendship - rooted in trust, shared purpose, and the belief that no one is meant to navigate life alone.
We're really glad you're here.
Meet the Duo
With over 10 years of experience as a healthcare social worker and counsellor, supporting individuals across the lifespan, I’ve worked alongside people experiencing ongoing challenges and acute crises. I’m comfortable in the messy, uncertain moments and aim to help you find steadiness within them. My counselling style is easygoing and relational- I tend to show up with curiosity, reflection, and yes, humor.
I work from a trauma-informed lens, recognizing that resilience is shaped by many intersecting factors—our biology, early experiences, family systems, environment, and the broader patterns we inherit and live within. While I acknowledge labels, I prefer to pay attention to the symptoms in order to avoid inside the box thinking. I have a special interest in relationship distress (all relationships), inter-partner violence, existential suffering and life transitions.
In a world that often feels divisive and overwhelming, my aim is to offer a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and reconnect with a sense of peace and deeper meaning. Whether you’re experiencing chronic mental health or a situational crisis, my goal is to be in your corner, helping you discover ways to manage what’s happening within and without.
Outside of the office I am a coffee drinker, river dweller, dog lover, and mom of two, with a background in university athletics. I'm here with my teammate Amanda and we're ready to help.

Therapy with me is a space to slow down, be seen, and feel supported. I specialize in working with anxiety in all its forms- whether that’s constant overthinking, a busy mind that won’t shut off, panic, or feeling overwhelmed and on edge. Together, we explore how your nervous system responds to stress and build practical, sustainable strategies to help you feel more grounded, regulated, and in control. The goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety completely, but to change your relationship with it so it no longer runs the show.
I am also passionate about supporting clients navigating burnout, perinatal challenges (pregnancy and postpartum), and major life transitions. Our work together is collaborative, real, and non-judgmental - a space where you can exhale, be honest, and move forward in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.
I bring over ten years of experience working in healthcare- including community mental health, long-term care, and hospital settings. This has shaped my ability to support people through high-stress, emotionally intense situations with steadiness and compassion. My work is always trauma-informed, meaning we move at your pace and prioritize creating a sense of safety and trust in the process.
Outside of therapy, I’m a mom of two little ones and one big pup. I recharge through movement, time in nature, and being around animals - my way of slowing down during full seasons of life. Building River Valley Counselling alongside Ally has been such a privilege, and I feel incredibly grateful to do this work together and with YOU!
